Craving the Chase - ARC Review

Craving the Chase - ARC Review

Hey Bookworms,

I have two reviews for you in one day - surprising, right? First, I want to emphasize the importance of reading all the trigger warnings for this one - it's a dark stalker romance filled with possessiveness and depravity, among other things.

Let's talk about "Craving the Chase" by Syn Blackrose! I was lucky enough to get this as an ARC, and I must say, I really enjoyed it! Syn's writing style is fantastic, and I've grown to love it just as much as Hc riLEY's. But focusing on this book - it delves into the complicated dynamics of an unconventional romance between Noah and Chase. Noah’s intense obsession with Chase shakes up Noah's previously ordinary life, leading to some wild developments in their relationship. The morally grey nature of Noah's character adds depth to their connection, which goes against the norm. Despite some initial doubts, Chase finds himself drawn to Noah's mysterious aura, setting the stage for a rollercoaster ride of passion and obsession.

Now, I have to admit - whenever I read a book involving a therapist or counsellor, I tend to judge a bit. As someone who is working towards becoming a registered psychologist, I can't help but get stuck on the ethical breaches or unrealistic scenarios. But, of course, this is fiction, and it's a "fantasy" that may not align with reality - i mean it may not be my fantasy but it could be someone else's . With that mini-rant out of the way, let's continue.

The story unfolds in the realm of dark romance, catering to those who enjoy intense, morally complex characters. While Noah's portrayal may come off as somewhat exaggerated, the interplay between his bold personality and Chase's moral struggles adds depth to the plot. Syn skillfully explores themes of possessive love, psychological manipulation, and moral ambiguity, keeping readers hooked until the end. The unconventional dynamics between Noah and Chase, marked by dominance and submission, add to the book's appeal for fans of the genre.

"Craving the Chase" offers a tantalizing experience for readers intrigued by the complexities of obsessive relationships. Syn Blackrose's adept portrayal of morally ambiguous characters and their tumultuous journey of love and possession makes for an engaging read in the realm of dark romance.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did,

xoxo
