Not Your Average Book Club - About US

Starting this journey, it's like telling a story that began before I even knew it was starting. So, I've always loved books—they're like my escape, my way of dealing with things, that feel-good moment when the day's been rough. But here's the kicker: Ben, he got tired of hearing about my steamy romance novels. Fair enough, right? So, I needed a place where I could share my book passion without annoying him.

And that's how it all kicked off. At the beginning, I was just throwing out my own book reviews, my friends' thoughts, sharing cool stuff about new releases, and even reading these advance copies from authors (fancy, right?).

Then things got real interesting. I got a bit carried away buying books, but let's be honest, having a book addiction isn't easy on the wallet. But I got good at finding and grabbing used books, to the point where my spare room became a book storage zone. Now, here's the thing – people don't always get how awesome used books are. They buy one, read it once, and then either try to sell it or dump it at a used store. Those stores are overflowing with books needing new homes, and it bums me out that folks still lean towards buying new ones.

So, an idea hit me – how about I make used books fun? And not just fun but also help them find new homes without landing in landfills. It started small with 'Blind Dates with Books' – I had the books, the passion for reading, so why not? And it just grew from there. Now I've got Blind Date Book Boxes, 12 Days of Bookmas, a Year of Books, Silent Book Club, and a bunch more going on.

This space, it wasn't much at the beginning, but now it's this cool mix of loving books and turning that passion into a business. Big shoutout to folks like you who support me in this love-for-books-turned-business adventure!

And here's the deal – help me keep the reading love alive. Join in on book clubs, chip in with book donations, and let's make sure those used books get a new life instead of gathering dust. Your support means this bookish journey of mine keeps going strong, spreading the joy of reading everywhere.
